Marina Staff

Mark Rabush - Mark is the marketing and sales guy. The past 20 years of work experience has provided Mark the chance to market, and work in, many different fields - from Construction to Internet Advertising. Along the way he has owned and operated a few successful businesses and is committed to making this one flourish as well. He and Adam have been friends for more than 35 years.

Adam Houck - Besides being a professional engineer, Adam has designed and built kayaks, sailboats and powerboats. He obtained his Mechanical Engineering degree from Tulane University in 1989 and has had post graduate training in Naval Architecture at F.I.T. in Melbourne. He and his family have a long history in the customer service industry so marina management was a natural fit.

Dale "Teeny" Lawrence - Teeny has been with Coltons Point Marina for over 200 years. Okay, maybe it's only been 30 years but if it has to do with a boat, Teeny has seen it. He apprenticed under Karl Kopel when the marina built wooden sport fisher powerboats in the 70's and over time has become the area expert in fiberglass and wood repair as well as paint, brightwork, and hull repairs. Teeny is a true craftsman and has first hand knowledge and experience with a vast array of power and sailboats of all types, models, and hull materials.

Chris Lawrence - Chris has been with Coltons Point Marina for over 19 years and has been the lead mechanic for the past ten years. Besides being an expert at Outboard, Inboard, and Stern drive repair and maintenance, Chris has extensive experience in all types of mechanical, electrical, and marine electronics installation and repair.

Jamie Parham - Jamie has been hauling and blocking boats at Coltons Point Marina for over nine years. Besides handling the travelift, he handles the bulk of the bottom painting at the yard and he is generally the go-to guy at the marina to make sure everything operates smoothly.

Lola, Malachi, and Murphy - Lola, Marks pure-bred mutt, handles discipline of all delivery and postal workers. Murphy, Adam's Australian Shepherd, is crazy and is currently not allowed within 500 yards of the marina.
About Us
Coltons Point Marina was originally built by Bob and Karl Kopel in 1960 and operated as Kopels Marina. It quickly became known throughout Southern Maryland and the Washington DC area as one of the premier marinas and boatyards in the region. In addition to operating a full service marina, the Kopel brothers built beautifully constructed wooden yachts throughout the 1970?s using traditional construction. Over the years, the marina grew to include 110 covered and uncovered slips, a well-stocked ships store, and a 5,000 square foot maintenance building. Our two families purchased Coltons Point Marina in March of 2009 after a long and difficult search for the perfect marina. What we found was a beautiful site with a rich history as well as a friendly community and great place to raise our young children. We were fortunate enough to be welcomed by the Kopel families, who have also been instrumental in providing guidance and advice. We look forward to growing Coltons Point Marina and plan to continue the tradition of a family owned and operated marina with friendly, exceptional service.
Whether you?re looking for safe harbor for your boat, expert maintenance and service, or just a convenient departure point for a day of fishing, we would like to welcome you and your family to enjoy one of Southern Maryland?s finest boating experiences.
